The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Champions once again! After a thrilling 5-game series against the New York Yankees, the Dodgers have secured their 8th World Series title.
In game 5 the Dodgers trailed 5-0 and rally to clinch a World Series Title in the largest World Series comeback in MLB history.
Freddie Freeman Named World Series MVP
First baseman Freddie Freeman was the driving force behind the Dodgers’ victory, earning the well-deserved World Series MVP award. Over five games, Freeman put up staggering numbers and became a pivotal force in L.A.’s championship win.
In Game 1 he sets the stage for his MVP run, where he delivered one of the series’ most electrifying moments: a walk-off grand slam, the first in World Series history. He is the first player to ever hit a home run in each of the first four games of the World Series. By game’s end, he’d gone 6 for 20 in the series with four home runs, a triple, and 12 RBIs.
The big acquisition of the Dodgers this off-season was Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani won baseball’s ultimate prize in his first World Series appearance, in the first year of his record 10-year US$700 million contract with the Dodgers.
The Dodgers now claimed their second World Series title in the last five years and have a promising future!
